There may be dangerous plants in your garden that you don't know about at all, and it may kill your child, or pet. There is 20 000 different kinds of plants in South African gardens, and 300 of those are poisonous. The well known Nerium oleander, is one of the most dangerous plants. The goverment had a law a while ago for people to kill all growing Nerium oleander plants in their gardens. A plant called the "varkblom" in Afrikaans, has poisonous juice that can cause suffocation when swallowed.

Plants like the cycad, the most precious and beautiful plant for me, has fruit that is very poisonous. Most gardens in South Africa grow these plants, and not many people know how dangerous the fruit of this plant is.

She fed on your blood, satisfied with her catch she sucks through a little straw all that she can get before she flies of before you can kill her on your arm. Her male companion has a very different kind of diet, he won't touch your blood, but loves fruit juice, juice from flowers and even dirty water.
The female mosquito doesn't know the effect that she has on South Africans. She is the reason there is so many deaths caused by malaria, and so many other diseases, that kill people. There is 80 different kinds of viral infections caused by this little lady. Did you know that mosquito's can't lay their eggs without blood in their tummy that feed the eggs. They are like vampires, and is everybody's worst nightmare during the night. How does a mosquito make that irritating sound? She does that with her wings rubbing against each other, about 200 to 600 times per second.

In South African gardens are thousands of different plants, and three hundred of those are poisonous plants. The most common known poisonous plants is the Nerium oleander , and various kinds of berries.
Did you know that the juice of varkblomme being swallowed can cause you to suffocate and die.
The Nerium oleander was forbidden a while ago in South African gardens. It was responsible for people getting sick and dying, but people are still growing them in their gardens today.
The most beautiful plant to me that is dangerous is the cycad. It is a precious plant that can cost you a lot of money. The fruit from this tree is poisonous. Cycads looks like palms, and the clever people think that they were the most dominant plants in the time of the dinosaurs.
